Ericksonian Hypnosis
Ericksonian Hypnosis in short ...
A natural phenomenon when we “are temporarily absorbed” or “absent minded”, hypnosis is a state of modified consciousness. When used for therapeutic purposes, hypnosis makes it easier to get in touch with our hidden or repressed memories (images, emotions, important events …).
This heightened state of consciousness also facilitates access to our inner self-healing intelligence. Therapeutic treatments under hypnosis are often surprisingly effective.
Hypnosis, what for and for whom?
Used in therapy, and even v, hypnosis is effectively employed for:
- treatment of dependencies (tobacco, drugs…)
- deprogramming of limiting habits and behaviours
- management of pain and stress
- gathering and energizing of physical and psychic energies
- childbirth (hypnobirthing)
- surgical procedures
- dentistry
- allergies
- psychosomatic disorder
- anxiety, depression
- sleep optimization
- development of individual resources and abilities
- identification and setting up of objectives
- therapies
How does it work?
Overall discussion and selection of a goal for the session.
Guided therapeutic session from an induced state of Ericksonian hypnosis and immediate integration of deprogramming, releases and transformations.
Ericksonian Hypnosis is used ideally as part of a larger therapeutic process and personal development and in combination with other techniques.
A natural and spontaneous phenomenon, when our attention “is temporarily absorbed” or we are “suspended between thoughts”, hypnosis is a modified state of consciousness. When used for therapeutic purposes, hypnosis makes it possible to get in touch with hidden or repressed memories (images, emotions, events, shocks…) in order to release them, thus liberating our inner resources and abilities.
This state of heightened consciousness also gives us access to our inner self-healing intelligence. Therapeutic treatments under hypnosis are often surprisingly effective (disappearance of symptoms, spontaneous cure, surgery without anaesthesia…).
Ericksonian hypnosis does not use direct suggestion, as does traditional hypnosis, which is effective for only about 30% of subjects. By finding a resonance with the subject’s own values and abilities, Ericksonian hypnosis follows an ecological and pragmatic approach to therapeutic coaching. This more subtle use of hypnosis helps subjects discover and awaken their own resources and potentialities, rich in possibilities for transformation.
In this case, hypnosis acts as a double dialogue between the conscious and the unconscious mind of the subject, reaching both the right, creative and imaginative, side of the brain as well as the rational and analytical left hemisphere. In this state of a heightened consciousness, the process of indirect suggestion allows for an ideal communication with our unconscious, i.e. with the invisible part of the immense field of human potential.
Milton Erickson, doctor, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, teacher and genius in the field of therapeutic coaching, initiated this form of hypnosis, based on the observation of human nature, its processes, and its immense potential.
