Music Therapy or Music
from the Heart of our Selves

Music Therapy in short

Music Therapy is the use of music with an objective of self expression, communication and acknowledgement of oneself and others. Music then becomes therapeutic in the areas of intimacy, spontaneity, authenticity and creativity, expressing who we really are... Through its nonverbal language, music therapy is particularly well suited to problems of psychomotricity, as well as emotional, socioemotional, cognitive or relational difficulties.

By using various musical instruments combined with the human voice, active listening and the body itself, we can reach a creative synergy of self-confidence and reconnection to our full potential and to the music of our deepest self...

How does it work?

Individual or Group Sessions

Active Music Therapy

  • Presentation of a selected theme for the individual or group session (stress management, joy, self-confidence, centering, communication, self-expression, creativity, games, musical composition…) and of supports used (images, music, texts, dance, poems, movements, words, feelings….)
  • Introduction and active exploration of the theme through discussions, exercises, musical games
  • Development of musical sequences for self-expression
  • Development of a music sequence for the group around the selected theme facilitating listening, communication and construction.
  • Sharing of participants’ impressions of the session

Receptive Music Therapy

  • - Creation of a state of receptivity, even of relaxation
  • - Listening to various musical sequences selected according to a specific objective (relaxation, energy, emotional release, connection to our resources…)
  • - Centering on the inner experience (physical sensations, emotions, thoughts...) during the audition
  • - Expression of the felt-sense (collective or individual, discussion, drawing, movement…)

Methodologies and topics are modified according to individual group needs.

For example:
Coaching for pregnancy and preparation to childbirth

  • In the active phase: relaxation, music and soft movements, communication (including with the unborn child), expression of emotions, connection to the earth…
  • In the receptive phase: selection of musical sequences to be listened to during pregnancy and delivery (according to the specific needs of each individual: relaxation, total breathing, centering, emotional harmony, strength, self-confidence…).

Autism

  • In the active phase: installation of space-time references and of music as language and social bond….

Music Therapy, cont’d

Part of the art-therapy family, music therapy is the use of music with an objective of expression, communication, release, acknowledgement of oneself and others, and access to our multi-sensorial, emotional and psychic reality.

Music Therapy allows the active development of self-expression, through the practice of song and sounds, the creation of rhythms, movements and intuitive improvisations… Passive listening, with its emphasis on letting go, affects our attention, concentration, memory, centering and emotional experiences often hidden in the depth of our subconscious.

Music then becomes therapeutic in areas of intimacy, spontaneity, authenticity and creativity, expressing who we really are. Through its nonverbal language, music therapy is particularly well suited to working with problems of psychomotricity as well as emotional, socioemotional, cognitive, or relational difficulties.
By using various musical instruments combined with the human voice, active listening and the body itself, we can reach a creative synergy of self-confidence and reconnection to our full potential.

Music, with its wide range of vibratory frequencies and its calming influence on our cells, endocrine glands and nervous system, is an ideal companion for the healing process, magically connecting our whole being with its own song.
